While the terracotta soldiers are still unaccounted for i have only ten minutes to post this blog and so im going to press on.
We arrived in Denhuang last night to see some really very special buddahs at the Magao caves. basically, buddists like making carvings and models and pictures of buddahs. They spend most of their time doing it in fact. The Magao caves feature loads of the little buggers. We had ourselves a guide with questionable english who kept banging on about when the caves were covered. After about ten caves it became apparent she meant 'carved'. I worked this out because she was saying how the caves were covered in the tang dynasty, Qin dynasty, zhou, western zhou, eastern zhou, han, three kindoms peri
